Don't text while driving

Jordin Sparks signs the pledge
Car crashes are the No. 1 killer of teens, and the holiday season is a deadly time for teen drivers. We get it. You want to text all your friends to see what’s up. But, reaching for a phone while driving increases your risk of crashing by nine times. So take your thumbs off the cell phone and help keep your friends and family safe. Allstate is hitting the streets on a 30-city tour this holiday season, to raise awareness about the dangers of texting while driving. Join us by taking the pledge online and committing to being safer behind the wheel.Take the pledge and join the cause at: http://apps.facebook.com/causes/395301

By joining this cause, you’re pledging not to text and drive and helping to save lives. Share your thoughts and stories about texting while driving, or other ideas you have to help make it the Safest Holiday Ever. For each pledge received, Allstate will donate $1 to NOYS to sponsor safe teen driving efforts. Help us make NOYS for youth traffic safety!

Jordin Sparks, the American Idol singing sensation added her thumbprint to Thumbs Up for the Safest Holiday Ever pledge banner, promising not to text while driving. The banner is making its way across the country as part of the X the TXT tour, which asks teens and their families to vow to give up this dangerous habit that has claimed lives here in the U.S. Says Jordin: “sending a text isn’t worth taking a life.” Anyone who signs the pledge also gets a thumb ring to remind them not to text when they’re behind the wheel.
